A search warrant obtained by News4 is shedding new light into the hours leading up to a 16-year-old Virginia girl's death.
Police bloodhounds tracked Emylee Lonczak's body to a bush between two homes in the Tysons Corner area Aug. 23, two days after her parents had reported her missing.
A search warrant from Fairfax County Court claims that one of the last people Lonczak was with before she died lives in one of those homes.
That person is identified in the warrant as Kyle Alifom, an adult.
According to the warrant, Alifom told police that he and Lonczak went to a party on the night of Aug. 21, and they got a ride to Alifom's home afterward from another person.
He initially told police that Lonczak never went inside. But in a follow-up interview with detectives, police said that Alifom appeared to contradict himself, allegedly telling a detective that he and Lonczak were drinking beer and smoking marijuana.
Alifom admitted to knowing Lonczak was a minor, the warrant claims.
Police searched Alifom's home, where he lives with his parents. He has not been arrested or charged.
The cause of Lonczak's death has not yet been determined. Detectives are trying to determine whether illegal narcotics were a factor, authorities said Wednesday.
They also said that Emylee Lonczak had not run away, contrary to earlier reports, and that she had been in the company of people she knew.
Lonczak would have been a junior this fall at McLean High School.

Wednesday marked the first time authorities publically identified her, although members of the McLean High School community had come forward earlier.
"The preliminary criminal investigation necessitated withholding the victim’s name," McLean Police said in a release.
"I can certainly understand why people should be concerned," Bud Walker of Fairfax County police said late last month. "This is not obviously something that happens in everyone's neighborhood. What I can say is that everything that is involved in this case has been identified by the police."
Parents of McLean High School students were notified of the death in a letter from the principal.
One mom, Lisa Ohm, summed up the feelings of many parents: "It's a dark cloud."
Lonczak is survived by her parents and six brothers, including a twin.
